His teammate Sakura has undergone extensive growth under Tsunade, not only gaining the medical training she sought out, but also a bit of the hokage's incredible strength, which Naruto gets a taste of right away. Even their friends, the Sunagakure ninja, have grown, with Gaara becoming the Kazekage (leader) of Sand Country.
The original Team 7 is now reunited again, minus Sasuke. He is replaced with the team's teacher, Kakashi Hatake, and the team is immediately put back on track to save Sasuke from Orochimaru before time runs out. The action is heightened as the Akatsuki, a mysterious and evil organization of elite ninja, are on the move to capture Naruto to obtain the power of the nine-tailed fox sealed inside him.
